The GOFAR ray still gives you realtime feedback on your driving even if your phone isn't in the car. You will get a score for your drive, track fuel usage, mileage as well as accelerating and braking events. You will, however, not get a map to visualise your journey on, as GOFAR uses the GPS software on your phone to provide this. The dongle will store all of your driving data for you and sync it with your phone the next time you drive with your phone in the car.
